I Love You
Lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
Tim Gregory is an Australian artist and lecturer in Politics, Pornography and Art at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW.
His recent work deals with the political potential of pornography to disrupt our conservative relationship with the image. Highlighting complicated interactions, his practice explores how traditional modes of exploitation have morphed in an online context. “We may be ideologically attached to the notion of the global village, but it is not until an orgasm is shared across continents that a rupture point is established.”
I love you continues a project that Gregory has been researching over the last three years. In this incarnation of the work, a global narrative is formed without its communicators having access to the meaning they are creating. It is only the audience who is in a privileged position to construct the complete narrative, making them complicit in the exploitation of the project.
